Account & Data Deletion
You can delete your Homester account and the household data it owns at any time, directly in the app.
Delete your account in the app
- Open Homester on your iPhone or Android device and sign in.
- Go to Profile → Delete account.
- Review what will be deleted, type DELETE, and confirm. You may be asked to sign in again first.
You are signed out on every device as soon as you confirm. Removing your data usually takes a few minutes and continues even if you close the app.
What gets deleted
- Your account: your sign-in, name, email address, and notification settings.
- Every household you own, for everyone in it: its properties, uploaded documents and photos, extracted records (assets, providers, events, reminders), member profiles, notes, and service history. Other people who had access to a household you own lose that access. The app names them before you confirm.
- Your membership in households someone else owns. Those households keep their records, including what you uploaded to them; your account and email are removed from them, and your name stays in their history as a person, not an account.
- Any AI provider keys you added to a property you own.
- Your billing records at Homester.
Subscriptions
Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription. Cancel it in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings, or it will keep renewing. Apple and Google keep their own records of your purchases.
Sign in with Apple
If you signed in with Apple and delete your account on an iPhone, the app asks you to confirm with Apple, and Homester then asks Apple to revoke its access to your Apple ID. If you delete your account on an Android device, or if Apple doesn't confirm the revocation, the app tells you so: remove Homester yourself at appleid.apple.com → Sign-In and Security → Sign in with Apple.
What remains, and for how long
Your data is usually removed from our live systems within minutes. Occasionally it takes longer — for example, while a document you just uploaded is still being processed — and deletion keeps retrying automatically until it is complete. Copies can also remain for a limited time in systems that exist to recover from failures:
- Previous versions of stored files and records: up to 30 days.
- Database backups: up to 7 days.
- Service logs, which do not contain your documents: up to 30 days.
- Emails sent to a property's Homester address, as received: up to 90 days.
We keep a minimal record that a deletion was requested and completed, with no name, email address, or household content, so that a deleted account cannot be signed back into and so that we can show the deletion happened.
Before you delete
Deletion cannot be undone. If you want a copy of your household records first, email support@homesterapp.com before you delete your account.
